Merry Christmas!

I pretty much can't believe its December 25th, in some ways I feel like this year just flew by! For me the whole month of December is exciting, decorating the house, baking goodies, listening to Christmas music! All fun activities with family and friends leading up to the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus! My heart always feels so full of Love and I can't help but reflect on all the ways the Lord has blessed my family and I!

The other night I took a picture of my living room, the Christmas lights were on, all the presents were wrapped and tucked under the tree and my hubby had a fire going in the fireplace! It was such a beautiful moment for me so I grabbed my camera and snapped a picture to share with all of you!

Come Christmas morning my living room will look quite different, lots of shredded wrapping paper, boxes and toys galore... and that moment will be just as beautiful!

This holiday season Fawn and I wanted to give a very special gift that we hope will be treasured for many years to come! We had so many lovely e-mails from people nominating friends, coworkers and relatives for our "Giving is Awesome" event that it was difficult to choose just one! But after much consideration and thought we have picked a family that we feel deserves a special Christmas gift this year! We are pleased to announce Becky Mixon and her family are the winners of our "Giving is Awesome" event! She has won...

Becky was Nominated by her Friend Jenni Saake who wrote a very sweet and touching e-mail about the families need for a special gift this Holiday season. Becky and her husband have 3 little munchkins ages 12,5 and 1. I can't think of a better gift for a mom then images of her kiddos so that in the years to come she will be able to look back and remember them at this stage in their lives! Congratulations Becky and thank you Jenni for taking the time to nominate your friend! We will be calling you both after the New Year to setup a time to meet and do your families pictures!

Birthdays, Snow Days and Christmas Day!

December is a busy month, I think everyone on some level can relate to that. For me it is an especially busy month, December is packed full of birthdays (Mine, Fawns, My Father-inlaws, 5+ other friends, my son Jack's and of course Jesus's)! So there has been lots of parties and shopping in the last couple of weeks. Not to mention the big winter storm that dropped 12 inches of snow on the valley floor! Normally our area doesn't get a large snowfall till January so having all this snow before Christmas is quite a treat and it was a good excuse to stay home and just be with my family!

Shelley and Danny - Pure Love

What an amazing couple! Shelley and Danny were so much fun to hang out with and photograph! Shelley has such an awesome smile, its infectious and Danny can make Shelley laugh and giggle at the drop of a hat.

Happy birthday my friend! You are not only a blessing to me but also my family, the love and care you have for my kids and the love and friendship you shower upon James and I is a gift we treasure and are thankful for everyday!

Your heart is so big and you are so full of love and life, I know everyone who meets you is instantly captivated and your smile and energy is contagious, you really do light up a room! Like the sister I never had, you have become a great source of inspiration and comfort. You help me keep my heart soft to the needs of others and you have helped me come out of my shell and not be as shy as I once was! I give thank for you, especially this day you were born! What a treasure you are!

Happy Thanksgiving - From Tiffany and Fawn

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fawn and I are truly blessed by our families, friends, clients and blog readers!! We are SO thankful for each and everyone of you! Thankful for God’s many blessings and the ability to follow our passion of photography. Thankful for the wonderful people we have had the honor of meeting and becoming friends with this past year and Thankful for the future friends we will make as the years go by! I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to our friends, family, clients and future clients!

I have to say, that this is personally, one of my favorite holidays!

I love getting together with family and friends, to enjoy delicious home-cooked foods, fellowshipping together, and to thank God for His Mighty Provision in our lives.

This year, my husband & I will be celebrating with our family at two households, inviting 5 International Students from the University of Reno to come with us! We are delighted to see the treasures of this day unfold as we gather together! 

As a Photographer and Teacher, I also love recalling the first Thanksgiving,

teaching my students about the hard winter the Pilgrims faced when they came to Plymouth, MA from England in 1620 and lost half their people.

What a blessing it must have been to have befriended the Native Americans the following Spring, and how they learned from the Native Americans, to grow and harvest their food for the winter! I am reminded of Psalm 100:4-5 “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him,

bless His name, for the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations,” and James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” In a time of economic hardship, I am reminded that the hope of the universe is in Christ, and His Everlasting love and display of mercy on the Cross. He has provided my family, friends and I, with a harvest of blessings and good things, even if I can’t visibly see them all right now. It is my prayer that this Thanksgiving will fill your heart with joy and thankfulness, for the Lord is good :)

From the first Thanksgiving in 1621, to the 388th in 2009, a Happy Thanksgiving to you! I am so dearly grateful for all of you!!!

Light the Night - Epic WIN

The Michael's have done it again! And by “Michael’s” I mean Michael Escalera and Michael Imus and by “Done it again” I mean hosted a totally AWESOME workshop!

Last weekend both Fawn and I attend our 3rd workshop with these amazing photographers and let me tell you, they put on epic workshops! This one focused on Night shooting and utilizing light whether it is ambient, video lights or off camera flashes to achieve an array of different looks!

I personally really loved using the ambient lighting around Downtown Reno but I also learned some really awesome techniques with the video light to create bold and dramatic images!

I also want to give a huge shout out to the four fabulous models that braved the freezing cold nighttime air and didn’t complain once! They rocked it! And to Domino, who coordinated everything from the models and stylists to the venue and yummy food, you are amazing and we all would be lost without you!

Here are some of my favorite images that I took Friday night and I’ve also thrown in a few from Saturday’s portion of the workshop, Michael Escalera and Fawn made sure to document all the learnin that was going on!
