Stephanie and Vayda-Pure Connection

They say that "dogs are a man's best friend." Would you say so too? Well for Stephanie, "Vayda" has definitely been a long-lasting, loyal companion & friend to her and her family, for as long as she can remember. While photographing the two of them on St. Patrick's Day Tuesday, I couldn't help but fall in love with her myself! With her floppy ears and puppy-dog brown eyes, Vayda has a vibrancy & youthful appeal that still reigns in her, though her years are starting to catch up with her. I love the happy expressions you'll see in Vayda's face & eyes. With those smiles, she must know that she has been loved!

Jamie-Pure Joy

Oh the joys of pregnancy!! Why is it that all soon-to-be moms with their basketball-shaped bellies look absolutely & positively ADORABLE?!
It’s universal I think, and a marvel to me that inside that little place is a little person being masterfully put together by our Creator. I’m in awe.
And what a joy it is to capture these special moments in time with pure fun photography!

Here’s Jamie, a beautiful mom-to-be, who with her husband Brian,
is anticipating the arrival of little Haddon. I was able to journey to her house last week, for a softer, more personalized session
in the comfort & sanctuary of her own home. We had a marvelous time!





















I just love this! Aside from talking to her baby every day, reading & writing in her journal, one of the favorite things Jamie likes to do, is to place headphones over her belly & listen to music! I have heard of such delights, and now I know a friend who actually does it! Her current musical selection of choice: BACH.... Nice.

Spring Has Arrived

In honor of it being the first day of spring, here are a few pictures I snapped while in San Francisco a few weekends ago.




I’m SO excited its spring, not that it really matters what it is officially…here in Reno winter and summer will have a tug o’war till around the end of May when summer will win! Just knowing that warm weather is on the horizon & watching everything come back to life & bloom fills me with such joy! I’m totally a summer person, I love the warmth, the sunshine, the green trees and birds chirping…all of it is my favorite! When it comes to winter I’m a big baby, a big whiny baby! I just hate the cold!

Relaxed and Laughing

Because we are photographers any reason to take photos is fine by us! There are even times when we willing put ourselves in front of the camera! Fawn & I thought it would be fun to get some new head shots and a good way for you all to get to know us a little better. Fawn took the pictures of me, I took the pictures of Fawn & Fawn’s husband Mike took the pictures of the both of us! Despite the FREEZING wind outside we braved the cold and had fun! We like to laugh & keep everything relaxed! I think that’s the key to taking great portraits, keep everyone relaxed & laughing! I'm not big on "over posing", I love it when I capture someone who is REALLY smiling or laughing! That's why Fawn & I love to keep things relaxed and simple, no stress for us behind the camera and no stress for whomever is in front of the camera.
Enjoy the pictures, we sure enjoyed taking them and pretending we were models for an evening!

5 Years Ago

Today is the Hubby & I's 5th wedding anniversary! I wanted to take a moment and let my wonderful hubby know that these past 5 years have been wonderful & i've been truly blessed by being his wife.
5 years ago this day I married a wonderful man who has loved, supported and cared for me more then I thought anyone could. I love you more & more as the years go by my dear!

And as a fun note, these pictures were taken by our friend Matt Anthony and they are film pictures. After I scanned them in, I played around a bit with the color!

Kaylee, 8 Months- Pure Joy

This is Kaylee, she was born July 2, 2008. She is now 8 months old and I’m her proud Mama. I had made a decision with my first child (Jack, who is now 2) that I would photograph my kiddos every month for their first year of life. The reason I decided to do this was simply, they change SO much in that first year! I wanted to be able to look back and remember EACH stage they went through, every new aspect of their personality and every funny and cute face they made! Once she turns one I will then compile my favorite shot from each month into a collage, I did this with my son and let me tell you I’m SO glad I did! In twenty years when both Jack & Kaylee are adults and no longer want to cuddle in moms lap I know I’ll go through these pictures and be thankful that I can relive it all!

Baby Silas-Pure Joy

This adorable little man is Silas, Silas is the son of one of my best friends from high school. He is not much older then my little munchkin Kaylee (he is going on 9 months while my little one just turned 8 months)! He was rolling around and chewing on anything and everything he could get his hands on! He was really teething so these pictures show him just as he is, adorable, bright eyed & drool-y!

Mt. Rose Evangelical Free-Pure Community

"Over the past few weeks, I’ve been taking Portraits of the church I attend Mt. Rose Evangelical Free Church, for our new Church Directory. It’s been quite some time since some of the members of our church had their picture taken, and so this has been such a fun project for everyone!






My favorite would have to be, hands down, little Ethan. When his mom gave him a trumpet to hold for his picture, he blew it with such passion & might, that he nearly fell of the seat he was sitting on!! He had all of us in stitches, especially when he decided that blowing the trumpet upside down would be much more fun!








It was during this time, that I realized how precious God’s creation truly was, and how fearfully & wonderfully we’ve been made in the sight of the Lord. And here I was, capturing just an image of that beautiful creation in a special moment with my camera. God is good! "
