Fall in Love Workshop

Last Friday I made a trip to southern California to attend Cameron Ingalls "Fall in Love Workshop"! The whole weekend was truly a growing, learning and completely outside my comfort zone experience...it was beyond amazing! This was the first time I traveled by myself, so I was excited/nervous about it but I found traveling alone can be a fun adventure and rocking out in the car singing Taylor Swift songs without fear of judgment from others is pretty darn fun! 

I met so many wonderful people and was so inspired by Cameron and guest speaker Jose Villa that it did take me a few days of marinating in the whole event for everything to sink in! Cameron's heart and passion for photography/people/love is contagious and I walked away from the whole weekend wanting to go shoot my next engagement session, call up my couples and chat about their love and lives and submerse myself into my community utilizing my gifts as a photographer! I felt inspired and energized! Also, I can't really express how awesome it was to see first hand how Jose directs and engages people while shooting! I was pretty much in awe at his direction and how he helped the couple we were photographing completely be themselves in front of the camera! I really could go on and on about the whole weekend but I'll refrain, instead here are some of the images I took and the amazing vendors that helped make this event so great!

I took this from the plane Friday morning as it was leaving Reno, there is Mt. Rose and Lake Tahoe. It's neat how Mt Rose is actually light up with Rosy light from the sunrise!

I also made a little trip to Avila Beach where my Hubby and I stayed when we visited San Luis Obispo

In Black and White

A week or some ago I got together with some other fabulous local photographers for a creative session! These creative sessions are just a time for us to come together take pictures, laugh and share ideas with one another! I really am so thankful for the friendships i've developed and I'm always amazed at all of their creativity! They continually inspire me!

I went into this shoot wanting to do something different and creative so I made it a goal to shoot only Black and White in camera. I am super pleased with the outcome, these images have still been adjusted for contrast and sharpness but I LOVE how bold and dramatic they are! Our fabulous model Brittni Grider braved the snowy elements in heels and dresses without a single complaint! She is amazing!
The nice thing about being out in the snow was the light reflecting off of everything which helped make these images so bright! Enjoy and Happy Monday!

Date Night- Jenna and Greg

I love doing engagement sessions, its a perfect way for Fawn and I to work with our couples before the wedding day and its also a great way for our couples to see our style and get and idea of what pictures will be like for the wedding day! Its a win win! We really like to encourage our couples to treat the engagement session like a date...well most dates don't have photographers following you around but that's part of the fun! By having us tag along on a "date" we really get to see how the couple interacts with one another and what their dynamic is like!

Jenna and Greg are such a FUN couple, they are sweet, goofy and loving with one another! Fawn and I got to follow along with them as they took a ride on a Ferris wheel, window shopped, got ice cream and walked around in the freezing cold! We had so much fun, talking, laughing and freezing our rears off!

Greg won't be tossing this one back into the sea, she is a keeper!
