The First Day

For many families today is the first day of a new school year or even their very FIRST day of school ever! The first day of the new school year always signifies the change in seasons for me…and although it will still be in the high 90’s and trees will still be green for weeks on end it now feels like fall! I’m reminded of the movie “You’ve Got Mail”, one of my favorite quotes is from the beginning of the movie, “Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms.”A bouquet of sharpened pencils, LOVE IT! My kids are still to young for school, thankfully for me, I’m just not ready to...

Photographers and Friends- Pure Fun

Last Saturday I got to hang out with some wonderful friends who are also amazing photographers! Fawn invited her Nieces to be our models and we headed out to Verdi (for those of you that are not locals, Verdi is a little town that is nestled on the state line of Nevada and California just outside of Reno). Its really beautiful out there, and we ventured out to an old apple orchard and then headed down to the Truckee River! Our models (Caitlyn, Cierra and Cheyanne) were fabulous! These girls were really fun to take pictures of and they are just plain beautiful so it was easy to get really great images of them! Here are some of my favorite images, next week I'll be posting Fawns and her husbands pictures (they got some really cool ones)!Have...

Awesome Sauce-Photographer Friends

Last night I had the immense pleasure of joining 7 other fabulous women photographers for a Trash the Dress model session at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe! It was AWESOME! But not just any old "awesome" it was awesome like eating strawberries that have been dipped in chocolate sauce! Last nights photo shoot was dipped in awesome sauce! I have to give a big shout out to the amazingly talented and fabulous Melissa Vossler for coordinating the event and making it all possible, Thank you Melissa you rock times 10!I didn't get home till late last night (well, late for me!) so I didn't have a chance to look through my images till this morning and as I was doing so this one image really stopped me in my tracks, I'm in love with it! Now this is the straight...

The Adventurous Type-Pure Fun

This past weekend Fawn and I joined some photographer friends for an afternoon of fun and photography! We traipsed around a big field braving Rattle Snakes, Ticks and very thorny flowers! We didn't actually encounter any Rattle Snakes or Ticks but just knowing they were out there made the outing all the more adventurous! The gals we were photographing were totally awesome and climbed trees, wadded through a river, hunched down in the poky grass and all while wearing dresses! They rock! Here is just a glimpse of our outing...more to come later this week! Happy Monday all!...

Ben and Julie's Wedding-Pure Love

I have to admit that there were more than a few times I teared up at this wedding, the love that enveloped Ben and Julie was almost overwhelming! Not only were Ben and Julie thrilled to be joined together in marriage but their family and friends were also so very happy and excited for them! For me, being apart of an event that is so joyful and so filled with love makes me feel blessed to do what I do! To document the beginning of their lives together and also to capture their family and friends lifting them up and sharing in the joy is such an awesome experience! Thank you Ben and Julie for having Fawn and I be apart of your commitment to one another and you guys totally put on an awesome party! Reading notes to one another before saying "I...
